I create my original pieces by adding liquid acrylic paints, inks and powders to resin and, then, pouring it onto a wooden box canvas. The look is not ready for curing until I go over the top with a blow torch. The heat releases the bubbles that are caused when the two parts of the resin and hardener react and brings a glass like sheen to the surface. The resin brings out the vibrant colors of the pigments just like placing a rock in water or polishing it brings out its colors. My paintings are all one-of-a-kind because I can never get the same look twice due to the nature of my medium. So every original is truly unique. The paintings that are more realistic take more time in that I have to paint the picture first and, then, do the above process in each section of the painting. I really have to control the boundaries of the colored resin. My goal is evoke the feelings of the viewer with the color and movement of the resin within my paintings.
